Sujoy Biswas

Sujoy is an accomplished Senior Group Counsellor who recently joined Athena, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the field of social work. With over six years of dedicated service in healthcare and social organizations, Sujoy has established himself as a qualified and resourceful professional, specializing in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, where he has provided comprehensive patient care and management.

Sujoy possesses a dynamic personality and excels in cross-functional management, making him a valuable asset to any team. His core competencies include counselling and guidance, case management, acute care handling, psycho-social analysis, family therapy, and more. He is also adept at project planning and management, social survey and research, and meticulous documentation.

Sujoy’s professional journey has been enriched by a commitment to continuous learning. He has undergone training in Mid-Level Project Planning & Management, organized by Seva Kendra, Kolkata, and has earned certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, aligned with the American Heart Association curriculum.

In terms of academic achievements, Sujoy holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from D.A.V. V Indore School of Social Work, and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a specialization in Marketing Management from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.

His career highlights include serving as a Psychiatric Social Worker at SARVAM Neuropsychiatric Centre and Chaitanya Mental Health Care Centre, where he played a crucial role in facilitating various therapeutic interventions for individuals with mental disorders and overseeing departmental activities. Sujoy has also made significant contributions as the In-Charge of the Department of Social Bureau at Howrah South Point, Social Welfare and Community Development Centre, working on projects that benefited marginalized and vulnerable populations.

Furthermore, Sujoy has actively engaged in training, surveys, research, and awareness campaigns related to mental health, HIV/AIDS, and more. He has also been a dedicated member of the All India Catholic University Federation, contributing to various social causes.
